We are on the lookout for two enthusiastic part-time Outreach Workers to help develop and deliver the outreach programme for the Lanchester Interactive Archive, co-funded by Coventry University and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Working within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the dedicated Lanchester Interactive Archive space within the Lanchester Library building www.lanchesterinteractive.org, the posts, funded to April 2019 2018, will bring to life the amazing archive and achievements of Dr Frederick Lanchester (1868-1946), one of Britain’s greatest engineers and inventors. The Lanchester Library at Coventry University holds the largest collection of Frederick’s work in notebooks, blueprints, sketchbooks, photographs, patents and correspondence, and is the biggest source of Lanchester information and knowledge in the world.
The outreach posts will work to develop audiences and deliver content that bring his legacy to life, through a comprehensive programme of outreach work that will engage people in his inventions, encourage them to use the archive resources, and inspire them to be creative.
This is an opportunity to be part of a flexible innovative working environment, delivering an exciting project to a wide range of participants across the city and beyond, focusing on a local genius, whose inventions still impact on our world today, and whose ideas can inspire future generations of creators, inventors and engineers.
